In July of 2018, the National Down Syndrome Congress unveiled a new advocacy toolkit for self-advocates. It contains useful information for self-advocates and others to become engaged in the policy and advocacy process to make their voices hear. We at DSC are very excited about this toolkit and hope that our advocates and self-advocates will review it in detail.
The Advocacy Committee is affiliated with many Partners within the disabilitiy community. Some of our partners include:
Maryland Down syndrome Advocacy Coalition
Anne Arundel County Education Access AllianceParent's Place of Maryland
Parent to Parent of Prince Georges County
Public Awareness Language Guidelines: NDSC. This information will answer many questions relating to the most appropriate way of referencing or speaking about Down syndrome.
